This project aims to build a SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) financial dashboard. The financial dashboard will compiles equities information, such as market prices, equities news, historical prices, financial ratios and inter-brokerage transactions to the dashboard users. The dashboard aims to charge its users 1 USD per month or 10 USD per annum subscription for maintenance fees, and is will expand into different stock markets in the future.

Our Story & Strategy

The story and background of your project

Firman is motivated by his father's success within the Hong Kong stock market. Aiming to complement his strategy of selection of stocks, he had set out to learn Equity programming in Python and plans to sell data through this financial dashboard as a passionate project.

How does your business model help sustain your project?

This project aims to generate revenue through subscription fees by the users. The monthly fee for users will be 1 USD and the annual fee will be 10 USD. Users are free to view the information on the dashboard but will not be allowed to download it.

Market manipulation is very prevalent in Hong Kong. Thus, this dashboard allows users to detect the manipulation activities through the brokerage transaction activities on a daily basis. Although inter-day manipulation activities could not be picked it, it can be seen on from the inter-day shareholding total. The excel sheet that I have coded shows this very clearly. To support my statement of market manipulation, the activity is done several time, and the difference in stock prices are not significant. Retail traders would not be buying and selling the same quantity with the same stock price, leading to losses in transactional fee.

Moreover, the dashboard will provide basic information of the equities, such as the industry, shareholding structures, company descriptions, yearly prices, period prices etc. The dashboard utilises an artificial intelligence model to classify stocks if they are Cheating companies or not. Cheating company refers to companies which exhibit significant market manipulation price actions from their previous stock prices. This is identified via image recognition on the daily stock price graph.

What is the specialty of your project?

Starting from Hong Kong equities, this project provides an edge over other websites providing equities information due to the inter-brokerage transactions. The dashboard provides a daily record of Hong Kong equities information, its daily news from multiple sources, historical prices sorted by dates, popular financial ratios and financial models and the unique inter-brokerage transaction information. The unique feature of this dashboard will feature an all-inclusive graph to view prices, but has news appended as events on the graph to enable users to view the effect caused by the news.

What are the environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects of your project?

Offer a new product to the Hong Kong equities data market, Increase awareness of market manipulators in Hong Kong to prevent scamming by manipulators.

Competitor Analysis

There are no known SaaS or websites in Hong Kong that offers this comprehensive product of inter-brokerage daily transactions for view. The other features of this dashboard are complimentary features for the users.

Six Month Project Plan

Month 1:

1. Design MVP for financial dashboard on Figma.

2. Develop analysis model for warrants and Callable Bull Bear Contracts in the Hong Kong market.

Month 2:

1. Procure EC2 instance on AWS for hosting of Linux server for deployment and processing of market data.

2. Transport code from local computer onto EC2 for deployment.

3. Start development of project.

Month 3:

1. Beta launch of Firman Financial Dashboard, special beta access provided to backers of the project.

2. Ensure stable build before developing of other stock markets.

Cost Projection

To ensure time efficiency, a freelance programmer will be hired to build the project with the T3 stack. The estimated manhour required for completion of MVP is 200 hours, including setting up of backend and frontend completion. The cost of the a good freelance programmer is HKD 500/hr. A UI and UX designer will be hired to work on the design and interface of the dashboard. That is expected to take HKD5000. EC2 servers costs are projected to be HKD 20000 per year due to the high number of API calls and beta user load. Hence, the total cost adds up to HKD 125,000.
