For Funders
No, crowdfunding is not the same as selling shares in a startup company. While both involve raising funds for a venture, crowdfunding is focused on supporting specific projects or ideas rather than offering ownership in a company. The Start-G-Idea Platform allow individuals or businesses to present their projects or ideas to a broad audience and receive financial contributions from interested backers. The funds raised through crowdfunding are typically designated for the specific project or idea outlined in the proposal and do not grant investors any ownership rights or voting privileges within a company. It is more akin to seeking angel investments specifically for a project or idea rather than selling shares in a startup company.
After the funding campaign has ended, there is a grace period of 7 days to ensure all funds have been debited from the funder’s account. Within those 7 days of grace period, the project creator will have to deliver a spending proposal in each milestone, defined bi-monthly. The proposal will be published on the project’s page and the first bi-monthly funds will be released to the creator. To receive the second bi-monthly funds, the creator will have to provide a status update on the project’s page to receive the second bi-monthly funds. Updates will be based on project development and receipts received.
No, the platform does not charge fees on the funds pledged by the investor. However, the platform charges fees on the funds during the time it is dispensed to the project creator.
